Life and Style

During my two years in college, I’ve met a lot of students who are interested in environmentalism but don’t know where to go next. They own their reusable water bottles, use products made out of recycled materials, and are familiar with the perks of riding a bike versus driving a car. They know the gist behind climate change and sustainability, but don’t really know how to apply them to their...

New Player in Social Media

Is the world ready for a new era of social networking? No more likes, pokes, or Farmville? Will all those tweets slip under the radar? While these may survive a while yet, there seems to be a new player in the game: Google+. This new social media site stirs mixed emotions in users, who are finding both pros and cons with the new technology.

FORGET THE FIFTEEN

A freshman doesn’t forget that first visit to the dining hall. That walk down the stairs, the friendly greeting from a student worker, and then, there it is: a cornucopia of cuisine.

Study Abroad: Egypt

Every college has an office brimming with colorful brochures and wallpapered with posters of the Eiffel Tower and Coliseum. Countless students end up at these famed landmarks thanks to popular programs. Ithaca Meets Bohemia

As the air begins to get colder and the sun struggles to make itself seen, it would appear the students at Ithaca College are ready for autumn weather. The girls walk around with their flowing shirts & skinny jeans, and the boys don sweaters over their t-shirts.

What in the World Do You Think You’re Wearing? A guide to dressing appropriately for the workplace

I come from the land of dairy farms and green meadows

And Fox News rules the TV
Is this what our forefathers dreamed?

iPad: The New Generation of Homework

Remember freshman year, when you used a spiral-bound notebook to scribble down everything your Intro to Whatever professor rattled off? Remember high school, when you only had a flimsy little planner? Remember middle school, when looking up a word meant finding your parents’ giant tome of a dictionary? No more: The iPad says those days are as ancient as those civilizations you’re studying.

College Students Use Stress asBadge of Academic Success

After a long day of sitting through classes, shooting video for the college news station, and working at the portable equipment center, Ithaca College student Kari Beal is tired – and has hours of homework ahead of her. Beal is a sophomore journalism major with a double minor in speech communications and health studies.

Another Kind of Holiday

Ithaca has turned. Long gone are the bathing suits and sandals, girls on towels, warm
waterfalls, and gorge-swimming. The lake winds have picked up and the yellow and red
