Next Stop: The Bath Haus of Gaga

We've been getting a room-by-room tour of the Haus of Gaga in this latter half of 2009. Today marks the release of the scandalously venerable Lady Gaga's latest music video, for the song Bad Romance, and our invitation for a soak in the Bath Haus of Gaga.

This is her most outrageous effort to date. It's like a full-scale movie production that's part Tim Burton, part David Bowie, part Moulin Rouge, all Gaga. If she indeed does do all of her own hair sculptures and costume designs, her creativity is being taken to a new level. The Bath Haus of Gaga is ridiculous, and Tweeters and Facebookers are already flipping their virtual lids.

However, I'm sure that PETA peeps aren't going to be the biggest fans of the video. The face and fur of a polar bear, an animal whose populations are tragically dwindling due to climate change, makes up the train on one of her many outfits. And the cut to the hairless cat during the second verse is just plain creepy.

But more importantly (afterall, we are talking about music), the song itself is also bound to cause quite a buzz. I wasn't completely on board with the Gaga sensation, until I saw this video. This is song is far more complicated than her previous hits like "Just Dance" and "Love Game" and closer than she ever has to legitimately belting it out, in the last part of the song, like famous female singers of former decades.

In all honesty, there isn't too much that can be said about it. You should see it for yourself. Be sure to keep a French-English dictionary, some sunglasses and a very open mind handy.
