It Might Get Awesome

Some great documentaries have been produced this decade, like Trouble the Water, which took us inside Hurricane Katrina through the devastating home videos of a couple who weathered the storm in New Orleans. But I have never quite been so excited for a documentary as I am for It Might Get Loud.

There is no need for the Might in the title. It's definitely going to let loud. The documentary's premise is a scheme, hatched by Jack White of The White Stripes and The Raconteurs, to bring his guitar idols Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and the Yardbirds and The Edge of U2 together, so that they can enlighten him as to how the create their unmistakeable and truly beautiful sounds.

These three guitarists undoubtedly have the chemistry necessary to produce the most epic jam session of the decade (check out the preview if you don't believe me). Page, The Edge and White are each some of the best practicioners of rock guitarism from their respective eras. Let's face it, Stairway to Heaven is incomparable, if not for all time, with the hard-driving mystical rock ballads of the 1970s. No can attain those freakish and gorgeous sounds that The Edge has regularly unleashed since the mid-1980s. And Jack White is undoubtedly one of the more creative minds in music of the 21st century. It's bound to be a winner.

It Might Get Loud? Try, It Might Get Awesome.
