I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way, but I am absolutely in shock over the death of Heath Ledger. I've read numerous articles over the past couple days, some I believe more than others, but sadly the reality is that Ledger was a secret, broken man. Who knew? Yet another reminder (as if Britney's public dramas as of late haven't been enough) that this kind of glitzy lifestyle isn't all it's cracked up to be. Why is it that whenever you think you're having a completely bad day or think you feel the worst of all humanity, something happens that makes your "troubles" feel totally irrelevant and snaps you back into reality? Those of you who believe in a higher power might see divine intervention at play.

If you had told me that I would be writing a blog post regarding sports, I would have told you that you were crazy, but once upon a time I was an athlete...at least a semi-athlete..I'm not saying I was good by any means, but I played a few sports during my childhood years. Most importantly however, I was a huge Philadelphia Flyers hockey fan. Over the years it became clear that the reason for my super fandom was because of one man and that man is Eric Lindros.

I know this isn't a news blog, but I wanted to talk about the fires in California a bit.

I wanted to share something with you all that I think is important and kind of goes along with the theme, I'm trying to maintain in this blog. As I mentioned before I'm a huge music fan. Some of you might be asking then why I didn't do the entertainment blog. Don't get me wrong, I think it's interesting that Justin was caught partaking in a romantic getaway with Jessica Biel this weekend, but it's not interesting enough. So what? I like to take it one step further, and this website does.
