Britain Calls Iceland Terrorists
On October 8th, Great Britain Prime Minister Gordon Brown placed Iceland on their terrorist list.
In attempt to protect their investments from being further affected by the depressed worldwide economy and completely devastated Icelandic economy, Britain decided to call them terrorists and freeze their accounts.
Really?
Being on that list sets Iceland--the small island country of 300,000 in the North Atlantic--alongside Iran, Sudan, and North Korea.
What did Britain's move do?
By being placed on the terrorist list, all British payments for Icelandic imports were halted.
Iceland isn't getting paid from one of their largest export destinations, and, by being branded a terrorist, decimating the image of their country.
If this isn't revoked, Iceland could run into serious food, medical, and supply shortages.
indefence.is is the Icelandic petition's website. Nearly 80,000 digital-signatures have been submitted, doing so helps their efforts.
For me, Iceland is explicably endearing. And Britain calls them terrorists?
