Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Don't Lie: The Policy Must Go!

Among other news stories about Indiana Senators, wars on the middle class and Apple’s controversially titled iPad, President Obama has begun working directly with the U.S. military to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” – a campaign promise that has since been swept under the White House’s rug until recently.


Freiburg nach einer Woche (after a week)

I’ve only been in the gorgeous city of Freiburg for about one week now, but it’s definitely felt longer and already left an incredible impact on my life: my German is slowly beginning to emerge as an intelligible mixture of words and idioms, and the fact that I’ve already been lucky enough to visit the place that (more or less despite its large area) inspired the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tales makes


Finally in Germany (Endlich auf Deutschland)

After what seems like years of traveling, I am finally beginning to settle in my new living space in Freiburg, Germany. It’s hard to believe that I’m actually here sometimes, but when I walk around the streets reading signs in German, hearing people speak in German ,and in general, being around all that is German, the picture becomes quite clear: you’re in freakin’ Germany!!


two weeks! (zwei Wochen)

My title is a tad misleading, actually, because there’s only TWELVE days left before I hop across the big pond to Germany!
