Heisman, basketball in full swing

This week's post will be a short one.

Back after a few weeks off

Sorry for the long time between posts. I'm back, though, and just in time to discuss the mess that is the BCS. Let's be serious, this whole crazy season has been leading up to this, a championship game which about 8 teams could make a claim to.The most stunning aspect of all this for me was that Pitt beat WVU yesterday, even with the refs trying to give the game to the Mountaineers. I've told anyone who would listen last week that WVU would win by 40. Pitt's not very good this year and WVU has owned them these past few years.

OSU continues to impress; ASU, BC knocked from ranks of unbeatens

Ohio State keeps proving me wrong. I thought this week was a good possibility for them to lose their first game, but instead they went out and throughly outplayed Wisconsin. If they keep winning like this there's no way they can be held out of the title game, even if they do play in a horrible conference. They have two games left to finish the season undefeated, Illinois and Michigan. The Illini could pull off the upset next week if OSU looks ahead to the Michigan game. If they win next week, it sets up a match-up in the Big House with a Big Ten outright title and a national champ.

Ohio State-On track for a beatdown in the Title game

If Ohio State continues to take care of its games and wins out they will be in the National Championship game. If that happens, like last year, they will get pounded in the National Championship game. The Big Ten is so down this year that even if they actually are really good, there would be no way to tell. The Michigan game at the end of the year could be the one that spoils their season. Also staying alive this week, in miraculous fashion was Boston College.

Why even predict?

You can't. There's absolutely no way anyone can predict the way the rest of this season will play out. Up until this point it's been the craziest season in recent memory. That continued this week and started on Thursday night.USF was everyone's Cinderella and that included me. I don't think I ever really believed they would go through the season undefeated, but I really wanted it to happen. It would have been great for South Florida to make the national championship game because 2 years ago it was unfathomable. Instead, they fell down to earth against a very good Rutgers team in Jersey.
