They Wanna Hear A Thanksgiving Song!

To be completely honest, this song isn't a cover. But Adam Sandler isn't really a singer, either, so I'm going to put it on the blog anyway.

It's a tradition back home that one of the local Philadelphia radio stations plays two songs every Thanksgiving. One is Arlo Guthrie's epic-length "Alice's Restaurant," a long story set to acoustic folk guitar about a Thanksgiving gone wrong. The song lasts a whopping 38 minutes, and is played three times throughout the afternoon. And I can honestly say, I know a pretty good chunk of it after years of hearing it and watching my parents recite the whole thing.

The other song they play every year is Adam Sandler's "Thanksgiving Song," which I consider his finest work. Yes, "The Hannukah Song" is wonderful and funny and clever, but it's more about name dropping than random Thanksgiving imagery.
