If I Ain't Got Maroon 5

I meant to post this on Monday after the ab fab Maroon 5 concert over at Cornelll, but I never got to it. The band (and last-minute opener Fitz and the Tantrums) were really awesome live, and I was psyched to hear that they sound as good in person as they do on CD - something that many concertgoers will value. In addition to doing a lot of songs off of their first album "Songs About Jane" - including a performance of "Secret" that transitioned flawlessly into "The Wall" by Pink Floyd and "Roxanne" by The Police, which...geez, I wanted to marry Adam Levine right there - they performed a cover of Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You."

Keys is a tough one to cover, because her voice is so soulful and rich, and her piano skills are technically and classically very impressive. So for Levine to match Keys' vocal intensity and for keyboardist Jesse Carmichael to match the instrumental skill was beautiful to watch and even more pleasant to listen to. The video is terrible quality, but here it is. Enjoy!
