Glee Dances With Itself

I have a confession to make: I'm a Gleek.

I was trying to avoid using Glee as one of my cover songs for this blog, but this past week's version of Billy Idol was too fresh and original to not include. The original "Dancing With Myself" by Billy Idol is an 80s punky classic with a great beat and a snarl you can just hear in Idol's gravelly voice. It's a staple in teen movies like "Mean Girls" (where it was covered by The Donnas, which...more next post on them) and pops up a ton. Including this past week on Glee.

Kevin McHale plays the token handicapped kid Artie, who doesn't get featured nearly enough. He's usually relegated to being on the instruments of the glee club, but he has a smooth voice that got used to its fullest potential this week on the cover of "Dancing With Myself." What I liked so much about it was how different it was from the original. I found myself thinking that McHale's cover would've been right at home on a Jason Mraz CD. So here's a clip from the show, let me know what you think.
