Bruce Springsteen Was "Blinded By The Light"

Sorry about that break, Cover-Uppers, but even bloggers have to take a Fall Break. I decided to make this Monday a tribute to The Boss.

Bruce Springsteen is probably best known for hits like "Born in the USA" and "Dancing in the Dark," or known for depressing songs like "Philadelphia." But when he's not singing about his Jersey roots or sliding crotch-first into a camera at the Superbowl Halftime Show, he likes to listen to electronic music and cover it.

He decided to try his hand at Manfred Mann's "Blinded by the Light," which is usually a pretty electronic and synthesized affair. He and his E-Street Band (including my favorite, drummer Max Weinberg of "Tonight Show" fame) decided to make it a little bit more of a rollicking Saturday night of a song. No more synthesizers here: just a guitar, a killer saxophone, and Springsteen's signature growl.
