No more numbers: The New iPad releases with full force
Upon its release, there was a lot of hype surrounding Apple’s new iPad. The product has since gained high praise for new features and a stunning display. Some people are still wondering what makes this product so special. Here’s a look.
Apple sold three millions units in the weekend of the product launch, which is the biggest launch for any iPad ever. The new iPad has an improved processor chip, the A5X, an upgrade from the A5 in the iPad 2. According to a survey conducted by ChangeWave Research, 75 percent of new iPad owners surveyed said they enjoy the retina display feature the most. Since there are so many pixels packed so closely together, the bare eye can’t see the individual pixels. By creating this, Apple sharpens the image giving the iPad the highest resolution screen on the market. Apple has noted that in the 9.7-inch space there are four times more pixels in the screen than the iPad 2 and one million more than a high-definition television.
Apple also continues to improve the cameras on its products. The new iPad has a five-megapixel camera, which is considerably better than other tablet products. There are countless other benefits to the iPad. The iPad still weighs less than a pound and a half. The ten-hour battery life also impressed users in the ChangeWave survey. More features that continue to impress include the AirPlay feature where consumers can stream anything on your iPad onto an HDTV. Another highlight is the dictation feature where the user can write an email or update Facebook with his or her voice.
However, the new iPad has been experiencing connectivity issues with Wi-Fi. The complaints were posted on Apple’s forums all around the world. Some technology labs have been testing the Wi-Fi to see if it would connect to the new iPad. The tests have shown that in some instances, the tablets have had trouble connecting to Wi-Fi as close as 50 feet away.
All negatives aside, the iPad is still the supreme tablet on the market. The new features seem to outweigh the negatives because of the new tablet’s innovation and advancement. Looking to purchase the iPad? The investment is well worth the money, considering the versatility and popularity of the product.
