My Olympic Dream is Partially Fulfilled

Ever since I declared a Sports Studies minor the spring semester of freshman year I knew I wanted to study abroad in London. Not only would it offer me the opportunity to learn more about the timeless sports of football (known by Americans as 'soccer'), rugby and cricket, but it was one of only three cities that had hosted the Olympic Games twice.


September 6th

Freiburg nach einer Woche (after a week)

I’ve only been in the gorgeous city of Freiburg for about one week now, but it’s definitely felt longer and already left an incredible impact on my life: my German is slowly beginning to emerge as an intelligible mixture of words and idioms, and the fact that I’ve already been lucky enough to visit the place that (more or less despite its large area) inspired the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tales makes


September 2nd

Finally in Germany (Endlich auf Deutschland)

After what seems like years of traveling, I am finally beginning to settle in my new living space in Freiburg, Germany. It’s hard to believe that I’m actually here sometimes, but when I walk around the streets reading signs in German, hearing people speak in German ,and in general, being around all that is German, the picture becomes quite clear: you’re in freakin’ Germany!!
