The sports world is bursting with talk of touchdowns and slam dunks, but there is plenty of funky sports news out there, as well. The world of fans, supporters and athletes has quite a sense of humor. In honor of Valentines Day and the recent Super Bowl, there have been some quirky happenings.

I was sour on cover bands. I was one of those condemnable rockists who took every opportunity to spout my “I will listen to nothing but the original” treatise in blog posts and opinion piece. This was until Wednesday February 15, when The Pink Floyd Experience knocked me from my annoyingly high horse and into the sweet psychedelia and power of Floyd.

Benjamin Litoff is the creator and writer for the comic series Upstate. Benjamin was born and raised in DC, and is currently finishing up his Bachelors degree. Upstate challenges issues that include politics, economics, philanthropy, charity, privilege, and race with a focus on challenging Eurocentric values.

Shame is the type of movie that makes a person feel like taking a shower after watching. This isn’t a bad thing. Shame is intense -- giving a graphic, NC-17 depiction of the detriment of addiction.
