Daughtry Goes GaGa for "Poker Face"

By this point, everyone has probably heard Lady GaGa's "Poker Face" more times than they would like to count (and probably sang the infectious "ma ma ma ma MA" more times than they would care to admit). American Idol rocker Daughtry is perfectly fine with admitting he likes Lady GaGa - which is great for me.


September 21st

A "Killer" Cover

To start this blog off right, let's start with one of my favorite covers in recent times. During their Little Noise session in Union Chapel, The Killers took some time out of their own music to cover Cyndi Lauper's iconic "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." Now realistically, there is no girl in their band to have fun. But love the sentiment, and Brandon Flowers's voice just kills it. In a good way.

Hendrix Live (from the Gymnasium)

If you heard the wind cry "Mary" today, it's because the sultan of the six string, Jimi Hendrix, died 39 years ago today. The man conjured fire, figuratively and literally, in the realm of rock n' roll.

On August 29, 2009 President Barack Obama's visit to Phoenix, Arizona was hardly met with a smile and a wave of a mini-American flag by Pastor Steven Anderson of the Faithful Word Baptist Church. On the eve of the president's visit to the southwestern city, Anderson told his parishioners that he prayed for President Obama's death.
