Money, War and Wisdom

President George W. Bush addressed all House Republicans earlier today in a desperate attempt to rally some support for his ongoing fight with Congress regarding war policies.

During that address, he said, “We expect the Congress to be wise about how they spend the people’s money.”


March 23rd

A Tale of Activism, and a Longer Post than You’re Willing to Read

Tuesday night was, on all fronts, an odd one. It may have been Wednesday night, on second thought. Surely, you’ll excuse my confusion after reading this night’s post.

At any rate, I had no money, which was no surprise as my routine day slipped to twilight. However, I felt a “Raisin Oatmeal” cookie and a large Root Beer from Jimmy John’s were called for to wash down the 57 pounds of sushi I had just consumed, and was obliged to use a credit card for the $3.00 purchase. God bless America.

Rapper "k-os" Knows No Bounds

It’s about time that k-os (pronounced “chaos”) began to garner some recognition in the United States. The Canadian artist of Trinidadian descent is a rapper, singer, songwriter and producer-extraordinaire all rolled into one fantastic package, and his latest work, the genre-mashing Atlantis: Hymns for Disco, is his finest effort yet.


February 28th

The Fight of a Lifetime

After college graduation, some students decide to continue their education. Others choose to join the workforce. Still others take a gap year to travel abroad. Last year, 2,500 college grads chose yet another path- they chose Teach for America.

Teach For America is a national organization for college graduates who wish to commit two years to teaching in underprivileged rural and urban areas to help fight against educational inequality.

Climbing the Walls

Indoor rock climbing facilities are springing up all around the country. Now, colleges and universities are following suit with climbing walls of their own.

“The wall is pretty cool,” remarks Pete Orlando, an Ithaca College sophomore, after doing a bit of climbing at the College’s fitness center. “There were a lot of climbs to choose from.”
